Disclosures

Manta is software: it builds, trains, and runs AI agents that answer your phone and handle work for your business, but you decide what they say and you stay responsible to your customers. This page lists the risks and regulatory caveats that go with using a product like this.

01Manta is software, not a carrier or an adviser

Manta Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation, is a software company. We build, train, connect, and run AI agents that answer calls, place calls, reply to messages, and complete tasks for the business that hires them. We are not a telecommunications carrier, a staffed answering service, a law firm, or a compliance adviser. Your callers are speaking with software your business chose to put on the line, and you decide what that software is allowed to say and do.

Your phone numbers, your customer records, and your obligations to your customers stay yours. The carriers, messaging providers, and business systems you connect to Manta are the entities that originate and terminate calls, deliver messages, and hold your records of account. Manta’s role is to build the agent, train it on the material you supply, connect it to those systems, and run it, nothing more.

02Nothing an agent says is professional advice

What a Manta agent says on a call or in a message (prices, availability, policy answers, amounts owed, appointment times, next steps) and everything we produce afterwards (transcripts, summaries, action logs) is generated from the material you supplied and the instructions you configured. It is not legal, medical, financial, insurance, or other professional advice from Manta, and it is not a commitment by Manta that your business will honour it. Words an agent produces such as “approved,” “confirmed,” “waived,” or “guaranteed” are generated text, not a decision made by Manta. If your agent works in a regulated area, have a licensed professional review its script, its disclosures, and its answers before it goes on a live line.

03Automation carries risk

Handing work to software carries risk, including the risk of a bad outcome on a live customer conversation. An agent can mishear a name or a number, misread what a caller wants, answer from material that is out of date, take an action you did not intend, book the wrong time, quote the wrong price, or keep going when a person should have taken over. Background noise, accents, poor connections, and unusual requests all make errors more likely. An outage at a carrier, at a model provider, or at Manta itself can leave calls unanswered.

You alone are responsible for deciding which tasks an agent may handle, what it may say, what it may commit your business to, and when a human takes the conversation. Manta’s guardrails (escalation rules, restricted phrases, action limits, approval steps) are a software backstop, not a substitute for your own supervision or for the training and oversight you would give a new employee.

04Past results are not a guarantee of future results

Result figures shown in Manta or in our marketing (calls answered, questions resolved without a human, appointments booked, payments collected, hours saved) may be historical, drawn from other businesses, measured during a pilot, or produced from simulated test calls. None of these is a reliable indicator of how the same agent will perform on your phone line.

Simulated or benchmark results have inherent limitations. They are prepared with the benefit of hindsight, do not reflect live traffic, and may not account for your call mix, your callers, your hours, your offer, your staffing, or the operational events that affect real conversations. No representation is being made that any business will or is likely to achieve results similar to those shown.

05AI-generated content

Manta’s agents are powered by third-party speech and language models, currently including ElevenLabs, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Deepgram. AI models can produce content that is wrong, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. Names, dates, prices, addresses, order numbers, and account details in agent speech, transcripts, and summaries may contain errors, and speech recognition can drop or alter words outright. Treat a transcript or a summary as a working record, not a verified one. Verify any number, fact, or commitment against your own systems (your CRM, your calendar, your invoices) before acting on it.

06Marketplace templates are author-supplied

Agent templates on the Manta marketplace are authored by third parties (or by Manta under a distinct “Manta” label) and supplied with their own scripts, instructions, and reported results. Manta does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any author’s approach or claims. Before you put a marketplace template on a live phone line, review its script, its escalation rules, its disclosures, how it handles sensitive information, its pricing, and the assumptions it makes about your business. Past results, whether live, piloted, or simulated, do not predict future results.

07Recording, consent, and telling callers they are speaking with AI

Manta records and transcribes conversations so agents can work and so you can review what happened. Recording rules vary: some U.S. states and many countries require the consent of every party on the line, and a growing number of jurisdictions require that a person be told when they are speaking with an artificial voice rather than a human. You hold the relationship with your callers, so you are responsible for the notice your agent gives at the start of a conversation, for capturing consent where it is required, for honouring do-not-call and opt-out requests, and for the rules that govern outbound calling and messaging in the places you dial. Manta provides the controls (opening disclosures, recording notices, opt-out handling, retention settings); using them correctly is your decision.

08Third-party services and connectivity

Calls, messages, transcripts, contact records, and calendar availability shown in Manta depend on third-party providers: telephony and messaging carriers, speech and language model vendors, and the business systems you connect such as your CRM, calendar, and helpdesk. That content can be delayed, incomplete, inconsistent, or wrong, and the connectivity itself can be slow, degraded, or unavailable, so a call can drop or never connect at all. Your own systems of record (your phone bill, your CRM, your calendar, your invoices) are the authoritative record, not the view inside Manta.

09Tax, usage, and billing figures

Manta is not a tax adviser. Minutes used, call counts, message counts, and any tax or surcharge amounts shown in the product are estimates derived from the data we have at the moment we compute them. They may differ from your issued invoice, from your carrier’s own records, and from the values that ultimately appear on your filings. Telecommunications taxes, regulatory surcharges, and sales-tax treatment vary by jurisdiction and change often. For any tax or accounting decision, consult a qualified tax professional and rely on your official invoices rather than on Manta’s in-product figures.

10Eligibility and jurisdiction

The Service is offered in the United States and in other jurisdictions where it is lawful to do so. Some features (for example, outbound calling, text messaging, call recording, or particular languages and voices) may not be available everywhere or to every business. You are responsible for complying with the laws and regulations that apply where you operate and where your callers are, including those that govern recording, consent, telemarketing, debt collection, and the handling of health or payment information. Where an eligibility requirement (such as phone-number provisioning or messaging-campaign registration) sits with your carrier, the carrier’s decision controls.
